About Sloths

Sloths are some of the most fascinating animals in the rainforest! Known for their slow movements, these tree-dwelling mammals spend most of their lives hanging upside down, sleeping up to 20 hours a day. In this lesson, students will discover where sloths live, what they eat, and how their unique adaptations help them survive in the wild before beginning their sloth-inspired art project.

Sloths Art Project 

In this fun and creative art project, students will bring a sloth to life using drawing and collage techniques. After learning about sloths and their rainforest habitat, they will follow a step-by-step demonstration to draw a sloth, cut it out, and attach it to a tree branch on a colorful background. Students will then use construction paper crayons to add details and texture to their artwork.
